A word from Pastor Harry Rogers
How Can, “Out of The Ordinary,” Be a Blessing?
On September 24, 2006, just as I was finishing cleaning the outside of the church, I fell off the scaffolding. This set a chain of events which caused me to be out of control of my life. I did not know where I would go and what would happen to my body. I felt helpless and had to put my trust in someone besides me.
Have you ever felt out of control of your own destiny by a surprise of events that have come your way? Events that are so far out of line, you wonder, “How could this happen to me?” Then you know how I felt.
I fell on the hard concrete gasping for air. Within minutes the paramedics arrived. They secured my neck in a brace, strapped me to a board, wheeled me into the back of an ambulance and asked me were I wanted to go.
“Home!” was my answer. The paramedics did not take me seriously.
Things were out of my control!
The paramedics, the health pros, and the prayers of the church members were a blessing. Soon I was on my way. I knew not where.
As I was riding in the ambulance, I gave this situation to the Lord and put my trust in Him. I have found in the past that I could always trust Him and this time I would trust Him again.
Oh, what peace comes when you turn your whole life over to Him, even when tragedy strikes, even when lying on the cold wet concrete in excruciating pain. Oh,
what peace when you know that God will take care of you. In Jeremiah 30:17 God says, “I will heal thee of thy wounds.” What a promise! I will put my faith in the
Lords promise.
We serve such an awesome God. He has all things under control.
I am on the mend. With God’s leadership in this church, I am ready to see the miraculous blessings God will send our way.
Satan would like to see God’s church loose faith and stop preaching the soon coming of our Savior in the clouds of heaven. Satan is not winning this battle. God is in control! I believe God will use this church in a mighty way. This church will spread the 3 angels’ message into this community. (Revelation 14:6-12)
